Proper Eating Habits For Healthy Skin

The largest organ of the human body is the skin. It is also the most neglected organ in the body. Most people do not usually think of their skin when making a nutrition plan, but it needs good nutrition just like any other organ. Making sure you eat foods for your skin will improve its durability and over all look. Healthy eating habits will benefit your skin, but there are a couple of nutrients you want to be sure you get enough of.
  1. Vitamins. Vitamin A and vitamin C rich foods will replenish your body'ss store of the vitamins which are important in keeping your skin healthy. Vitamin A is important for maintaining good eyesight and vital to tissue repair, it can also prevent mild acne. Be careful not to take in too much however, because it can cause liver problems. Some vitamin A rich foods are carrots, milk, spinach, and mangoes. Vitamin C improves iron absorption and helps to replenish vitamin E in the body as well. Examples of some good sources for vitamin C are broccoli, bell peppers, strawberries, and brussel sprouts. Both vitamin A and C in healthy amounts will help protect your body against skin cancer.
  2. Antioxidants. Antioxidants help to prevent damage to cell membranes done by free radicals. This in turn will aid in protecting your skin from the harmful effects of the sun, like sun spots and premature wrinkling. Other benefits of antioxidants include preventing cancers, and muscular degeneration, and supporting a healthy immune system. There are many choices for getting a good amount of antioxidants through food. Cranberries, blackberries, and blueberries are all excellent sources along with the black plum. You can also find a good amount in apples, some beans, nuts, and artichokes.
  3. Water. Drinking a good amount of water has many benefits for your body. Because your body is mostly water and every activity we do diminishes the store of water in your body, replacing that is imperative to staying healthy. When your body is getting all the water it wants it will your skin will be softer, more resilient, and have a youthful glow. Of course there are some things you should do with this to help your skin stay healthy like exfoliating and moisturizing. The effects of drinking water can be profound but will not happen overnight. If you keep drinking plenty of water, after a while you notice a difference in the health of your skin.
Taking care of your skin is more than just external methods, the healthier your body is the healthier your skin will be. When you put the rights things into your body the results will make you feel great. So now establish a routine of moisturizing and start your makeover from the inside out.
